The present is provisional
Nearly everything we treat as normal had to be invented.
Our institutions were designed. So were our economic arrangements. Ideas about education, work, progress, intelligence, and what constitutes a successful life were shaped by particular times and circumstances.
They are not the final form of civilization.
Dalintis begins with that freedom.
The world we inherited can be examined. Its assumptions can be challenged. What serves life can be carried forward. What has reached its limit can be replaced.
Progress should feel like progress
Technological advancement alone does not tell us whether civilization is actually advancing.
A society can become astonishingly capable while human life becomes flatter, harsher, or more mechanical.
Capability is not enough.
Does progress create more possibility? Does it expand human experience? Does it make life more intelligent, more abundant, more humane, more wondrous?
If advancement does not improve the experience of being alive, the work is unfinished.
We work before consensus
Established knowledge matters. So does the willingness to look beyond its current edges.
Dalintis is comfortable with questions that are still open.
A mystery does not have to be solved before it deserves attention. Nor does an intriguing possibility need to be proven before we can enjoy investigating it.
Curiosity is not credulity.
Skepticism is not wisdom by default.
The aim is disciplined openness: follow the evidence as far as it goes, state clearly where it stops, and remain alert to what may still lie beyond it.
Designed to evolve
The questions will change. New territories will open. Some ideas will become projects. Others may become ventures, publications, institutions, or forms we cannot yet name. We have no interest in preserving a fixed version of the company. Dalintis should change as the work does.
